Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond.
After crossing off the bucket list item of FINALLY meeting the fantastic Rick Riordan last month, I got the sudden urge to reread some Percy Jackson. It is one of the best series and its been awhile since I’ve read this first book and now, of course, I want to continue reading the rest of the series…
Please keep in mind that Flashback Friday reviews are based on reread books. They most likely will contain spoilers as the books have already been released for some time. This is your only warning if you want to avoid spoilers for these books.
In IT’S YOUR UNIVERSE, Ashley shares her own life lessons, as well as lessons from iconic Disney characters, as a way to inspire girls to create big dreams and work to make them a reality.
I’m sad that I missed out on meeting her at my favorite place – Angel Stadium – tonight during the Angel game (GO HALOS!) since Ashley and her husband, David, are two of my favorite people on the planet but I was lucky enough to get my hands on this book and I’m excited to share what I thought of it with you guys!
After skipping last year as a small form of protest, I made my way back to YALLWest, one of the biggest young adult literature fests in the country, in Santa Monica. As a writer, I’m still disappointed in the lack of inclusivity to those published by small companies or self published. As a reader and a member of the press, I was impressed by the changes made from the last time I attended. Its still a chaotic day for sure but the chaos has definitely changed from the first two years that I attended. I had a great day and I even met a couple more authors than I had intended.
I am so INSANELY excited to be a part of this blog tour. I have known Alexa for a few years now and was head over heels excited for her when she announced her debut novel. I knew it was bound to be fantastic and I was even more blown away once I read it. Let’s jump in and get down to it and experience some Jane Eyre in space!
Leah Burke—girl-band drummer, master of deadpan, and Simon Spier’s best friend from the award-winning Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda—takes center stage in this novel of first love and senior-year angst.
Plus an exclusive interview with the author herself from YALLWest this past weekend!
Keep an eye out because in just TWO weeks, I’ll be having an HUGE EPIC GIVEAWAY for this blog’s 6th anniversary and there just *might* be a signed copy of Leah on the Offbeat up for grabs!
