Hi! My name is Sara. Welcome to my blog.

If you’ve been here in the past, you know that the blog looks a little different than it used to in the past. While I’ve spent the last five years being a nerd girl book blogger, I’ve decided that it was time for a change.

I’m 29 years old and my biggest struggle in my life is dealing with my anxiety and depression. It has held me back in the past and it has kept me from living my life and trying new things and being unafraid. In the past year or so, I’ve been doing everything I can to change that. I’m trying new things, getting myself out of my room and living my life more fully than I ever have in the past.

And I’m ready to share that with all of you!

So follow a 29-year-old gal as she explores what Southern California (and the rest of the world!) has to offer her, in food and in music and beer and new places to explore and so on. I’m still going to be posting about all the nerd things I do, the books I read and the movies and shows I watch, the nerd events I attend. But I’m also going to be exploring the new things in my life as well.

I hope you all enjoy!

A little more about me: I live in Southern California, where I work as a front desk receptionist at an optometry office and as a full time writer as well. My debut novel, The Awakened, a young adult science fiction novel, came out in December of 2015. The sequel, The Sanctuary, followed a year later, in January of 2017. My hobbies include reading, writing, watching a lot of Netflix, hanging out with my amazing boyfriend and equally amazing friends, going on hikes, playing some DnD, eating a LOT of food and watching a TON of sports.

    1. I have a very small experience in anime. I watch Studio Ghibli, which I know is barely dipping into it and I am a fan of the original Pokemon and of the anime Madoka Magica. I also watched Inuyasha like crazy. My brother is the anime fan of the family. He is insane haha
